Ezekiel b 1853 was married to Elizabeth - see 1901 details I posted above

That Ezekiel had a son called William who was 8yrs old in 1901

Wife Elizabeth died - see freebmd

Ezekiel re-married to Sarah in 1907

Ezekiel junior was born 1908

Therefore - William aged 8 in 1901 was his half brother - that's because Ezekiel born 1853 was father to them both

thats explained it i think i was loosing the plot to many ezekiels   bet you think i am a pudding this is my step dads family duro  he thinks there two half sisters to ezekiel born before 1908 called madalin or madaline and an ami could be sarahs children from a previous marriage      also found ezekiel duro1853 married to jane on the 1881 census 29 year old no children could it be three wifes

As you have Sarah's maiden name - have you looked her up on the 1901 census to find the names of her children?

Have you checked the family on the 1911 census to see if any Merriman children are living with them

Have you checked free bmd for a marriage to Jane and for a death for Jane and also for a marriage to Elizabeth?
