William Stevens c1801 (Monks Risborough)??
« on: Sunday 31 October 10 13:56 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I have William Stevens c1801  marrying Rebecca Rogers/Rodgers in 1823. Monks Risborough, Buckinghamshire.

In 1841, they are living in Meadle, Monks Risborough with 9 of their children. And Williams y.o.b is given as 1806

In 1851 they are living in  Monks Risborough (Redland End) minus Rebecca. (Dies 1844).

I am trying to find William Stevens(1801) parentage, and most leads head towards Dinton, but nothing confirmed as yet.

Thanks.

Steve. :)

On the 1851 it gives him born in Monks Risborough

There is an IGI extracted record of a William Stevens ch. 15.2.1801 Monks Risborough..... father Thomas.... mother Jane.

With such a common surname its going to be difficult to pinpoint the correct parents. I note his eldest child in 51 is a Thomas

Yes, I have that info now thankyou.

At least I'm getting closer.  As I live in Ireland now, access to records is a bit limited.

Thanks for looking for me.

Hmmmm, curiouser and curiouser.

Just found out Williams eldest 2 sons, John(1824) and William(1826), were living in Meadle, Monks Risborough,   but were baptised in Dinton, Bucks.

All other children baptised Monks Risborough.

I think William(1801),  father may have originated from Dinton.
