New Zealand Defence Force Archives.
New Zealand Military Services (Army, Navy & Air Force) records are now archived at NZ Defence Force Archives in Trentham, Upper Hutt. NZDF Archives holds the files of all those who served in New Zealand’s military forces from 1st January 1921 to the present day.
The link below will take you to the NZ Defence Force website, where you can access details of what is available, and about how to apply for a copy of your ancestor’s service records.
13 February, 2011:- As at this date, and according to the NZDF website, the first record request is provided free of charge, any further requests within a 12 month period will be charged at the rate of $28 per file, payable in advance.

The Asplin Military History Resources.
This site is a goldmine for Victorian-era genealogists. It features Nominal and Medal Rolls of a variety of British regiments, Boer War shipping lists extracted from the London Times, Casualty Rolls for the Crimean War (1854-56); Zulu War (1877-79); and the Afghan Campaign (1878-80): Army Deaths 1862-64, Royal Marine marriages at Chatham (1865-77) and Plymouth (1860-1879) and Army Death Indexes (1901-05).
