(Staffs) 1901 Census Lookup Requests Please For Lester H J Rossiter

Hi,

I am doing a one name study of the Rossiter family and am looking for information please about the parents, grandparents, siblings and children of Lester Henry John Rossiter baptised September 7th 1905 in Staffordshire.

His parents are believed to be Henry John Lawrence Rossiter and his wife Alice Maud (maiden name unknown) but I have no further information about them.

Any information would be greatly appreciated please.TIA.

Hi rcuser,

When was Lester Rossiter born?  I have had a quick look on the BMD sites and can't see a birth for him.  Assume he was baptised when he was older as you are asking for him on the 1901?  Have you found him on the 1911 census?

Hi JDGen,

When I originally posted I had in error requested a 1911 Census lookup as well but my posting was corrected by one of the mods as 1911 requests are not allowed.

Like you I tried BMD and had no luck. I could not find his parents birth dates or marriage date.

Unfortunately, I do not have any further information. All that I can hope is that someone may be able to find his parents in the census.

anyways, whereabouts in Staffs was the Baptism?

There is a marriage reg

so it seemed he moved around

He could have gone to Stafford for baptism -if of course this is him

Not having much luck tracing parents

After a little sleuthing -I have found the following --

Leslie Rossitor (Lislie) is on 1911 index in same household as Henry and Maude Rossiter

I think Leslie H J Rossiter is a good candidate for Lester-although he was b bristol he could have been baptised elsewhere

His father is Henry Lawrence Rossiter b. c.1881 bristol? reg bedminster
he was a hotel keeper

he married Mar qtr Alice maud Stovold? b Tunbridge QWells c. 1882 as mort posted

1901 census Maud Stovell age 20 b Tunbridge Wells  is a domestic servant in the Crown Inn All Saints rd Bristol -I think this is Alice Maud Stovold? Stovell?

I'll see if I can find her in earlier census to see if there is any Staffs connection

yes, same conclusion as I reached earlier when I found Alice M's Birth Index as Tunbridge (Wells)

The Staffs link is intriguing - could it also be a misreading as Lester for Leslie ?
