Cousins Across the Pond
« on: Monday 08 November 10 21:38 GMT (UK) »
Story begins with William TAYLOR b.1820 Holbeach who married Rachel WHILEY b.1823 Gedney Lincs England.

Their son William TAYLOR b.1843 Gedney married Harriet FRANKS b.1844 (m.1869) and they emigrated to Carbondale, Pennsylvania in 1893

Their children included:

Rhoda TAYLOR b.1875 Fleet Lincs, emigrated 1892, married Francis Henry MASTERS and had two children Francis Henry Jr killed in action in 1944., and Maud (spinster).
Maud was last known of living at 40 South Main Street Carbondale where she died in 1990 - as far as I know there are no living descendants of this branch but would love any photos (a long shot I know) of this group as my father has a picture of Maud with her father taken in the 1940s Id be willing to share).

Emma TAYLOR - b.cir1869 Fleet Lincs - no other info

Harriet Emma TAYLOR - b.1872 Fleet Lincs married Edward BRADLEY of Ireland - by 1910 they were at Pike St Carbondale. Their son Thomas BRADLEY b.1908 later lived at Rouses Point New York State. I believe his descendants are still there today, as my grandfather had an address for this surname in Chapman Street.

Mary Ann TAYLOR b.1873 Fleet - no other info
Maud Alice TAYLOR b.1879 Fleet - no other info

Arthur William TAYLOR b.1887 Fleet married Myrtle R CRONKITE from Canada and they lived Rouses Point New York State. Their children included Marion, Arthur Ellsworth, Ruth Alma, and Beatrice E, who married Schubert LAMB.,
Beatrice and Schubert appear to have moved to Lakewood, Los Angeles California where they died.

Finally Hugh TAYLOR b.1892 no other info.

Id be extremely interested to contact anyone who can identify with this family. :)

You may have these but it may help others who want to help -  just to start the ball rolling. The 1900 Census for Carbondale Ward 3, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania shows Hugh with One Parents Parent and one other sibling.

Mill Street

Emma Taylor 28 April 1872
Arthur Taylor 13 April 1897

1910 Census is a little mis-transcribed Carbondale Ward 3, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania the household is split over about 3 different records but basically this is what it should show.

Thomas Bradley Aged 1 year 1 Mth. Born Pennsylvania

Looking at the 1920 Census again in Carbondale Ward 3, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania would it be possible that Harriet Taylor/Bradley has died and Edward has married her sister Emma  ??? Was also mistranscribed as Emund but it is EDWARD

Edmund Bradley 48 Born Ireland. Immigrated 1892. PA 1905. Coal-Miner/
Emma Bradley 48 Born England. Immigrated 1882 It saus AL but then gives 1905.
Thomas W Bradley 10
