The most useful thing now would be a copy of the birth certificate of one of the children born in England - which would definitely give you Frances/Fanny's maiden name (since we can't find a marriage for them). You can look for them on freebmd.rootsweb.com (I think the two youngest boys are listed in Faversham district with spellings slightly off - Leon is "Elon"!) and order online here: https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

Have you tried contacting the Le Havre archives yet to ask if they can track Constance's birth? (link again: http://archives.ville-lehavre.fr/delia-CMS/archives/site/article_id-/sstopic_id-/topic_id-/topic_parent_id-762/ ).

Hello, just found this...you'd not linked to this original thread.  Mary /Ann Tobin was born in Ontario...
The son William was born in Nova Scotia... There is a thread on the Canada board for William Williams Groom

I hope that you have ordered the appropriate birth certs to find information as suggested on here.  J.J.

Hi unity1006 what a surprise to hear from you.To allow me to send a personal message to you or vice versa you have to place 3 posts on Rootschat. To do this do a reply to this post twice ie select reply put Mabel Elizabeth Groom was my paternal grandmother and post.Select reply again put Jim Meredith Miller was my Grandfather and post.

You will then see next to your name 3 posts, now you can send me a personal message with your personal email address.

I look forward to hearing from you.
