Thank you Sharon. I have info.from Griffith and likewise the 1901 census  and the Clare centre(Corofin) re Kett family. What I would further like to get is the  proximate  (preferably exact) location of the Dwelling of Dennis  Kett and family. The Kett name appears in the cemetery  on the main coast  road near Fanore Beg and this may be an indication.

Are one of  the above Kett's your family if so, the original Griffith's registrar has a corresponding map and each families plot is on it.
You would need the numbers from the Griffith's valuation book to find the plot.
I think both of these are held in the main Ennis library and I'm sure they would be held in the national library also.

I am a member of the Kett family. Martin Kett, my great grand-father born in 1834 and lived in Craggagh and is buried in Kilonaghan, Fanore Co. Clare. He died on 19th July 1930. His mother was Mary Droney and his father was John Kett. We have his photograph! His sister died in Adelaide in Australia. Details to follow if you are interested.

re:WHYTE and KETT.
A G- g-father of mine Was DENNIS KETT brother of your MARTIN KETT.A daughter of Dennis was HONORIA who married my g-father,JOHN COYNE.The Dennis Kett family eventually settled at Longworrie ,near Drouin in Victoria,Australia.
Names I have of the 'irish' end are John and Mary Kett and their children,Dennis (my g-g-father),Anne,John,Martin (your connection) and Patrick.Ann,John and Patrick with Dennis ended up in Victoria.Whether they arrived at the same time,I am unsure.
In 1983 and 2001 I visited the Kett homestead which lies about opposite the old Killonaghan cemetery with the ruined chapel. Many Ketts lie in the churchyard.
I would be very grateful for any further information on the irish end of the Kett family predating the emigration to Australia. As MacLysaght says,'Kett is a rare West Clare name'!
