Is anyone researching the name Crumlish. As far as i know they came from Donegal. My Grt Grt Grandfather was named Thomas and i think his father was William but might be wrong on William.Thomas and his father were both born in Ireland but they left for Scotland sometime before 1867 where Thomas youngest daughter was born.If anyone can help me with this family i would very much appreciate it.Thankyou Anne. :'(

I am looking for any Crumlish families from Donegal. My Grt Grt Grt Grandparents came from Ireland,my mother recalls Donegal being mentioned by family members when she was a little girl. This is the only info i have on them.William Crumlish born 1811 Ierland, married Mary? also born in Ierland in 1828.Their son Thomas born Ierland,i think around 1845.At sometime after the birth of Thomas the family left Ierland for Scotland where Thomas raised 4 daughters in Berwick on Tweed.William died aged 61 in 1872 and Mary died aged 48 in 1876.Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated.Thankyou.Anne.

Hi Anne,
The only help that I can offer is to try the Donegal Ancestry e.mail donances@indigo.ie
We have had help from them after struggling for years but they will charge.  We had a preliminary search and they came up with our GGGrandfathers birth his parents marriage and 5 siblings also 2 deaths and much more.  It may be worth considering if you are really stuck.

64 people in Donegal had the surname Crumlish in the 1901 Census...might be worth asking someone to have a look at that also.

Hi Anne

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes
