Young Guardsman with his bride
« on: Wednesday 24 November 10 09:11 GMT (UK) »
I would appreciate it if you could work your magic with some colour on this proof photograph and remove the photographer's name, The bride's hair is auburn, her bouquet is Lily of the Valley, the dress white.
The groom has fair/light brown hair and there is a red sripe down the trouser leg, tunic red with white piping, Bearskin black with gold curb chain.

Thanks
James

Artistic,
Excellent, many thanks. If I may make a comment which is quite important, The buttons for  Scots Guards tunics are in groups of three, In this case he is a Sots Guardsman, A single line of buttons  is Grenadier Guards uniform.

Hi James...Could you rescan just the photo at 300dpi with the marching ants just round the photo without scanning the scanner bed...you will get a better result.

Carol,
Thanks for your post, I am not quite up to the technical details of the dpi and pixels etc, however I have tried to resize the pic, (see attached) I fit is not suitable I will have to get advice, I did it once before quite successfully but the system seems to have changed to Picture Manager and I great difficulty reducing the file size from 1.7 Gb in the original scan, hope this make sense.

Have a look at this Geoff it will help...it's a lovely photo and worth persevering...Artistic has made a really good job with what he had to work with but the printout at this size and quality will be poor:
As you can see...the image pixelates badly on enlargement and is hard on the eyes:

The collar helps with an ID ...
Big thistle = Scots
Shamrock...Irish
Grenade....Grenadier
Order of The Garter...Coldstream
One more charge and then be dumb,

May the victors when they come
