Lost in 1871 census
« on: Friday 26 November 10 12:40 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can find this family in 1871?

They are on the 1881 in Wilmslow, Cheshire:

RG11/3500/40/19

Thomas Hattersley b c1809 Manchester, retired banker.
Mary, his wife, b c1815 Manchester
Daughter Maude, b c1852 London.

My cousin has found the family in the 1851, 1861 and 1891 censuses but couldn't find an entry for 1871. In 1851 and 1861 Thomas is a cabinet maker in London, by 1881 he has become a banker, retired and moved back north.

Is anybody able to find him in 1871?

Thank-you
Brie

Hi, Brie, I have tried two sites and no luck I am afraid.  Someone else might find them though.  Hopefully this is a mistanscription and its a varient that I have not tried.  It might be worth you posting with a title something like:
Thomas Hattersley missing in 1871
Someone brighter than me might find him/family.  Of course the other possibility is that he is away on holiday somewhere.
Regards

Kath and Ray,

Thank-you very much for your help and replies. I'll keep the family Ray mentions on file in case they connect.

I looked up the family posted on the 1881 and they appear to be found at RG11 0013/43 17. However John's age is given as 44 and his birthplace as Lincoln.
