Hi Jackie - sorry, the record set is actually called 'British Army Service Records'.

I'm descended through his son, Joseph Wild, born in 1812 in Windsor whilst the Regiment were stationed in barracks there.

I've spent a lot of hours trying to sort out Joseph juniors rather complicated life! I've found out a lot since I first posted the original message in this thread.  In fact as I was trying to find Joseph seniors army records for you I stumbled upon something I hadn't known - Joseph junior was also in the Royal Horse Guards for several years!! So thank you for that - filled in a hole in my research.

Now to get on to finding out the truth (or otherwise) of the other stories about Joseph.  Just call me doubtful!
