1871 Hove look-up in directory?

The 1871 census shows what appears to be a boarding school at 40 Upper Brunswick Street, Hove.
Does anyone  have access to a directory which might show the name of the school, please?

Thanks for that.  I found the school listed with only the head's name, but perhaps that was how it was known.

According to the 1867 street directory, the Boarding School for the sons of Gentlemen, was at 40 & 41 Upper Brunswick Place (not Street) Hove.  Presumably it was known as 'KINGS Boarding School' because it was run by George W King esq.

I have also asked my more knowledgeable colleague Andy about this school and he advises me of the following:
It was a Gent’s Boarding School at 40/41, Upper Brunswick Place from around 1856 onwards, run by George William King, MA [Camb] (b circa 1823, Marylebone, Middlesex).  Around 1876-7 the address became known as 52-54, Brunswick Place and later still, his son took over.  Around 1890 the school ceased, although George's daughters Elizabeth and Ellen continued to live at 52 ‘on their own means’.  A short while later, Frank Pollock started another Gentlemen’s boarding school at no. 54 called Greyfriars.

Ironically, Andy would like to know if anyone has info on The Queens Boarding School which was at the corner of Carlisle Road, Hove during WW1?

Greyfriars - wasn't that Billy Bunter's school?

Yes Bunter went to a fictitious school with that name, but if you have doubts about this one in Hove, see the National Archives, ref ACC8745/65  Nov 1892 - Feb 1903

Their record includes the assignment of the goodwill of Greyfriars School, Jan 1896; dissolution of the partnership between Arthur John Nussey Booker and John Lawrell Sharp in Greyfriars School, Jan 1899; and the schedule of landlord's fixtures for 54 Brunswick Place, Sep 1902.
