COMPLETED Help finding George William Burt on census records
« on: Wednesday 01 December 10 22:35 GMT (UK) »
Hi

George W Burt was born 1869 (registered Dorchester, Dorset).  On the 1901 he states he was born Huddlestone/Hoddlestone, Dorset.

I can't find this place anywhere, anybody know whereabouts in Dorset it is/was please??

Thanks
Joan

Me again,

Had some credits left for 1911, he states he is born in PUDDLETOWN.  But I'm still having problems finding the right one on either the 1871 or 1881.

Can anybody find him??

Thanks

Hi Joan,

Do you have the marriage to confirm his father's name? This the 1971 census reference for the most likely one, son of John &and Emma in Warbarrow Tyneham.

RG10 piece 1996 folio 58 page 2

In 1881 they are in Durweston  RG11 piece 2088 folio 115 page 3

Hi Jebber

Thanks for your reply.  As I had his wife's parents I was hoping to not have to  buy the cert.  I'm doing this tree for a friend for free (so my budget is VERY tight).

I had considered this one myself, it does look like I'll have to get the certificate after all  :(

Hello

Jebber, I think you have found the correct one  ;D

John and Emma have a son Frank,  George's son was named after one of his brothers, namely Frank.  I can see them on the 1881, but when I type the details of the 1871 on Ancestry it doesn't exist???

I cannot find John, Emma or George listed.  Can you give me the full details of the 1871 please?

Thanks
Joan

Hi Jebber,

Yes thank you so much for finding them.  No wonder I couldn't find them  AND the 1871 does state George was born in Puddletown.  One VERY happy bunny ;D
