Chiddicks South Ockendon, Barking
Matthews East Ham, Plaistow,Dagenham
Murphy East Ham
Mitchell East Ham, Barking
Harrison East Ham, Dagenham
any help would be much appreciated

What work have you done so far? Have you got all your relatives to tell you the info they know about those families (and write it down) and have they let you see any BMD certificates they have? People's memories are not always reliable so be prepared to be a bit sceptical about their memories. When you ask for info on a site like this you should mention the period you are interested in.

   I note the Murphy link, when were these in East Ham? I have a Mercy Murphy born in Dalston/Plaistow about 1873, if memory serves me right. you can check this on my online genealogy tree. A bit if a long shot, but I see you mention Matthews in East ham and Plaistow etc.
