Marriage of Reginald Hartley & Alice Jones
« on: Tuesday 07 December 10 17:23 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information pertaining to Reginald Joyce Hartley born about 1884 in Worcestershire, England. He married Alice Jones born January 6, 1884 and after their marriage had a daughter named Joyce born about1916-1917. Any information pertaining to the date and location of their marriage or census records will be very much appreciated. I think they immigrated to Canada in 1919. Thank you in advance.

Daughter Joyce was 2 years and 3 months old when the family crossed from Canada into the US at Niagara Falls in late July 1919, headed for England (due to sail from NY).  They duly sailed on the Aquitania from New York, arriving at Southampton in August 1919 - intended future permanent residence England.

Reginald returned to Canada in March 1920 (purpose of trip "going home") but I can't immediately find a return trip for Alice & Joyce and the outbound passenger list shows that he was accompanied by Alice and Joyce.

I too am interested in Reginald Hartley. I believe he was my father's uncle. His sister was Cissie Annie Hartley born 1880 who married Benjamin Prior in 1902 in Martley Worcestershire. They too eventually emigrated to Canada  with their 3 sons settling in Niagara Falls Ontario. I have information to share about this family. :)

I am the granddaughter of Reginald Joyce Hartley and Alice Jones. His daughter, Emma Elizabeth "Joyce" Hartley (b. April 18, 1917', d. Dec. 15, 1984) was my mother.
