Had a good look -that pretty much all seems good - however

1871 Census has John Yeates age 2 (image checked definitely age 2), no BMD entry for John Yeates found around 1866 -1871
William Yeates DC is Q1 1867
Only BC for John Roberts redruth around 1866 -1871 is 1867 Q1.

There are BCs for both Joseph and James at redruth in the appropriate period.
1881 image is def James.

I was aware of the nuances of the question - I refer to it because of the Joseph/James conflict.

It is interesting how John and Mary's ages fluctuate from census to census

Against John Bathen is 'son in law' crossed out and against Louisa is 'daughter in law' crossed out. Both are entered as 'boarder'

So it seems she re-married Q1 1907, redruth to John Henry Batten, who is on their 1901 census entry. But no death James or Joseph Roberts registered redruth between 1895/Q1 and 1907/Q4 (or Cornwall as a whole same period)
Cant trace John jnr and Mary - too many deaths of similar names in the time period.

That is certainly the clincher then. Louisa marries the boarder from the 1901 census.
