hi trying to trace my grandads father harry watts my grandad was cecil george watts born in portsmouth in 1912 he had three brothers douglas,stanley and alexander wilfrid the latter died in italy in 1944 george married margaret taylor,douglas wed betty and stanley was married to mable not sure if harry was in priory road,southampton but my grandad george did live there before he was marriedany help or info would be appreaciated

oh harry watts was married twice we think first wife either amelia,jane or mary jane second wife was gladys

according to your grandads birth index your grandads mothers maiden name was norris although it has been transcribed as morris (it is norris on the original image)

you would need to get the marriage cert of harry and mary.j.norris
that would give you his fathers name and occupation
and hopefully it will marry up with this 1901 census entry

thanks alot wozzle yes i have that info allready but i thought it was a leap of faith but now you found it the same as me  mmm yes getting marriage cert is not possible i dont have bank cards so i have to do this the hard way

do you want me to try and go backwards with the family posted in the 1901 census
then when you find out if this is the right family you will have the info at hand
if it is not the right family then you have not lost anything
i take it you do not have access to ancestry as you have to pay for that by bank card

harry has middle initial c in this entry so more than likely the 1901 entry is the same one whose birth has already been given
