The first troopship to arrive back in New York after VE day
« on: Friday 17 December 10 15:31 GMT (UK) »
Apparently   one of the large  Troop ships, maybe  the Queen Mary,  arrived in Liverpool  just after VE day in 1945.

Someone made the decision to send them straight back home to the USA.

When the ship arrived back in New York harbour  they recieved a heros welcome, bands, bunting  and crowds.

Even though the only action they had seen was in Liverpool.
