accident at Tackley
« on: Sunday 19 December 10 14:45 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
Does anyone have any info concerning an accident at Old Whitehill Farm, Tackley on 27th April 1945?
A Lockheed Hudson crashed, killing the crew of five. I know the details of the flight, and of the crew, but I would be interested in any local information at the time.
Thanks.

Might be worthwhile looking at the local press, while censorship was in place during the war since the incident occurred so near to the end it is possible censorship might have relaxed somewhat.

Thanks. I have a request of the Oxford Mail - so here's hoping.
In the meantime perhaps there's someone else out there who knows something?

I'd be interested in what you found out about this accident. I believe my wife's uncle, Alan Thom, was one of those killed. He was working at RAE Farnborough and hitched a life on a Hudson that crashed on this date in Oxfordshire.  He was on his way to see his fiance.
