Interesting that Mary Cogan's place of birth is also listed as Co. Roscommon - 'Ballymater'.

And there doesn't appear to be a place called 'Ballymater' or 'Ballmater'. I'm thinking it should be possibly Ballintober or another similar sounding place? Who knows? The joys of family history research.   :-\

You will get Mary's maiden name from a child's birth certificate which would help again.
Also baptisms can be useful for godparents and relatives.
Lastly, relatives are often listed as 'boarders' and no relationship given.
