George Freeman

I am looking for any information on a George Freeman.He was born in London,England on 20/01/1911 and was admitted to Mr Fegans Homes on 15/6/1923 and was shipped to Canada on 17th April 1926 to Hornby, Ont.He returned to England on 31/10/1931 but to return on 23/01/1932.He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and visited his sister during the war and that is the last we know of him.Did he marry, and have children, and when did he die.

If he stayed in Ontario, the BMD registrations from the time period you are referring to are protected by provincial privacy laws.

From what I can tell, Hornby is now part of Halton Hills, Ontario. If he stayed in the area then maybe the Halton Hills Library can help find an obituary or something. Here's a link to their website:

I did contact Fegans here in the UK and the sent me copies of the file,I have tried the veterans dept in Canada but they need to know if he is dead or alive and have proof.

Thanks for the info.I had photos of him standing at the gate of farm which I passed on but have realised that I did not keep a copy,so when I know the name of the farm I will email the library

There is no George Freeman birth 1911 with mmn Sayers (nor any such births 1903-1918) - equally there is no marriage between an Albert Freeman and Emily Sayers!!

MrCranfield have you gleaned any further information since 2011 that might help the search ?

There is a George Freeman (labourer)  listed on Canada Voters List 1935 for Halton Ontario - same address as Mr E May and Mrs Elmer May - R R 2 Hornby. Halton. Ontario.
