First of all Glyn a very warm welcome to Rootschat.

Presuming that Wilfred was born in the Wrexham area; When was Wilfred born 1912 or 1919?

Thank you Dawn,
I would presume that Wilfred would be dead by now, and Miriam Nee Davies, died in 1990, I am the Glyn mentioned, in my enquiry.
Many thanks.
Glyn

I do know that Miriam had another son before she married Wilfred his name was John Edward Davies, making him my half brother, he was born 26/7/1932 but he died in July 2000.
Glyn.

Hi Glyn

Your first step, if you haven't already, should be to purchase a copy of their marriage certificate from the General Register Office (www.gro.gov.uk) which will cost £9.25 and should give you their ages and the names of both fathers.

The registration details you need as well as their names are the date of registration, March quarter 1940 and the registration district and reference numbers of Wrexham, volume 11b and page 864.

This should take about a week to get to you. Very little information from the 1940's is available online because it is too recent.

Unfortunately any help we give you now is likely to be very wrong because of the surnames being so frequently occurring.

Think about getting the certificate and if you do, post again with some more details.

Hope this helps
