Don't know whether this is right but when I googled it I got the meaning of Rudler being "one who rows a boat".

My name is Derek Rudler. My dad and I have done some research on our last name and its origins. Seems to originate in the states/regions of Alsace-Lorraine in France and Baden-Wurttemberg in Germany. Hope this helps
