Poland looking for Gawryluk

I am helping a a friend to  try and trace the family tree of  Teodor  Gawryluk who is his grandfather
A member of the polish army during WW11  Teodor Gawryluk was born  1913 and educated in Poland
He was with the Polish army during WW11 and was a P O W with germans and russians
He served the 8th army and was in the battle of Monte Casino.
He moved to England after the war where he lived until his death in 1982 but very little is known of his life in Poland or his family there only that his fathers name was Dimitry Gawryluk and he was a tailor by trade

You really need to be able to find a place of birth to make progress, especially as the name looks more Ukrainian than Polish - he could have been a Greek Catholic from what is now the SE of Poland or W Ukraine. Did Teodor become a naturalised British subject? If so, there might be some record of his place of birth in his naturalisation record. Or was he a UN-recognised Displaced Person at the end of WW2? If so, there are surviving records (not online, in Germany) which could give a place of birth and names of parents.

I have the records back from the MOD and now have the following infomation

 Dymitr Gawryluk married Akulina Tereszczuk,  son named Teodor born 1913  in Ratno/Rokice/ Rokita,Kowel Wolyn, Poland
He was Roman Catholic
Occupation before the war Furrier Tanner

(Wife's name Katoryno Bilczek/kattacina Fejtouk not sure about the spelling
Place of residence before the war Rockice Wolh.Kr Skowal) This info taken from basic personnel record
What to do next?
Any help would be appreciated

This was Poland, but is now Ukraine.

In 1913 that was Russian territory, not Polish
