Henry,New Delaval is near to Blyth, named when a new pit was opened there in 1859,and a community opened up around it.

Hi BH

Are you and Scotsannie researching the same family here ?

Family Annie is researching

England and Wales Census, 1901 - Cowpen, Northumberland, England
Ecclesiastical Parish:   Horton
Sub-District:   Blyth
Registration District:   Tynemouth              Birth est.
Jas Devlin               Head      62   Scotland   1839
Bridget Devlin      Wife      54   Ireland   1847
Barttrim Devlin      Son      19   Scotland   1892
Lilinsand Devlin      Grand Son   4   Cowpen   1897

Given there is only 1 family showing up in 1901 census within the area with Seaton Delaval not being that far from Cowpen - Horton and with the others spread about Newcastle and such - is
it possible your family moved up from Newcastle or Durham even - do you think your family is linked to the 1901 census family that Annie is researching ?
