« on: Monday 10 January 11 07:23 GMT (UK) »
my g/g grandmother was margaret burke born tipperary  ireland about 1832.(parents thomas burke/ann hogan)

she travelled from liverpool  to  fremantle west aust on the ship "sabrina" 13/6/1853.listed as aged 21 and a farm servant.
there were 8 other burkes on board as well.

we have never established if they were all from the same family.
thomas 35 ,wife mary 31, mary 5,john 8, patrick 10,richard 12,ellen 14,catherine 19(farm servant)
does anyone know if perhaps catherine and margaret were thomas burkes younger sisters?

I am researching the same Margaret Burke and have the same information that is posted.  Have researched on ancestry and find some trees have Thomas from the Sabrina as Margarets father.  I am having no luck finding where Margaret came from in Tipperary. Any information appreciated Lyn

SO - after reading this family tree - if it is correct ????   Bridget Ann Hogan / Burke gave birth to Margaret in 1834 and died in 1834 - I wonder if she died in Childbirth ????    if so - the other 6 children and Thomas's wife Mary on the ships list are Step mother and step siblings of Margaret Burke ???

That all makes sense if that Thomas Ryan Burke is Margarets father.  On the shipping records Margaret is listed with a Catherine Burke which I took to be her sister.  Margaret age 21 and Catherine 19.  So if they are sisters Bridget can't have died 1834.
Also on Margarets marriage and death certificate her father is listed as being a shoemaker.  The Thomas on the Sabrina is a ploughman.
I can't find any records for Catherine in WA after the ships arrival ? to opinions she died on ship
At the moment I am trying to connect Thomas's descendants by DNA
So it is a mystery as some things are not adding up, makes researching interesting
