When asking for help it's best to supply as much detail as you can so that we know exactly what you are looking for. In this case, any dates?

have you tried using the advanced search on the 1911 census?

http://www.1911census.co.uk/

You can specify William's birth year, put in Richard Davies in other members in household, and the district should be Pontypridd.

With a common name like William Davies, your best bet for a birth certificate is to apply to the local registrar with as much detail as you have. You can email

registraratrhondda-cynon-taff.gov.uk replacing at with @
Cornwall: Allen, Bevan, Bosisto, Carnpezzack, Donithorn, Huddy, James, Retallack, Russell, Vincent, Yeoman
Cards: Thomas (Llanbadarn Fawr)
Glam: Bowler, Cram, Galloway, James, Thomas, Watkins
Lincs: Coupland, Cram
Mon: Cram, Gwyn, John, Philpot, Smart, Watkins
Pembs: Edwards (St. Dogmael's)
Yorks: Airey, Bowler, Elliott, Hare, Hewitt, Kellett, Kemp, Stephenson, Tebb

Any occupation for either of them?

Where did the names of Richard and William come from? And the birthplace? Was it on a certificate of some kind or somewhere else?

Milly ;D
McBride (Monaghan, Manchester), Derbyshire (Bollington,Cheshire), Knight (Newcastle,Staffs), Smith (Chorley, Lancs & Ireland), Tipladay (Manchester & Yorkshire) ,Steadman (Madeley,Shropshire), Steele (Manchester,Glasgow), Parkinson (Wigan, Lancashire), Lovatt, Cornes & Turner (Staffs) Stott (Oldham, Lancs). All ended up Ardwick, Manchester
