Are records available for C of I Drumcliffe ?
« on: Sunday 16 January 11 22:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Does anyone know if the marriages at Drumcliffe C of I church are available on-line?

I have tried a few links like www.drumcliffe.ie  and  (*)  and  http://homepage.eircom.net/~kevm/Co.%20Sligo/Drumcliffe/Drumcliffe.htm\   Unfortunately all appear to be dead !!!

I'm looking for information on a Church of Ireland wedding between William Jameson and Dorinda (surname unknown)   The marriage was around 1840
William Jameson farmed 20 acres at Tully in the parish of Drumcliffe.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

Some transcripts of records from Drumcliff Church of Ireland, Co. Sligo are available on the pay-website of the Irish Family History foundation at : http://www.rootsireland.ie

see the sources page for details : link    Baptism records for the parish are noted from 1805 but unfortunately it appears that marriage records for the parish only start in 1845.

The second link is working but it's for headstones not marriages:

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi Shane,
Thanks for the quick reply, I have already tried the Irish Family History Foundation .......... I found the births details for four of their children and the death of their Mother Dorinda.  Unfortunately the first child was born in 1844 so presumably the wedding was before this !!!! and as you say the marriage details only start from 1845 that would explain why I cant find the marriage record for William Jameson and Dorinda.   :( :(

Regards
Dave

I'll check the list of records available for the parish in the RCBL. in case there are older records there that the IFHF dont have. Will let you know...

I had a quick look at google books for extracts from 'Ryan's Irish Records', and Drumcliff is one of the extracts available in the preview -

 see : link

According to the details there some older marriage records for the parish are available in the National Archives on film reference : NAI M5094-5107
