You could be right about Emily and John since their birth were clovelly and the others woolfardisworthy (tenuous i know but possible). I shall investigate further.


Also you have Beers!!! Could this be my first "meeting" on rootschat?!?

i dont think William is mine had a quick look at my tree
unless Trees on here tells me differently as it transpires she is also related to the my Beers/ Beares

Have changed my mind about Emily from a previous marriage - this is 1871 census - they married in Q2 1851, so Emily was her's.

Have also found them in 1861:

Being VERY VERY Tenuous again, She has a son named Thomas - possibly after a brother who had died recently - so could be Thomas died pre 1859 - I know the words "straws" and "clutching at" come to mind
