Hi

I've modified your message and joined the two together to leave the best image. It is perfectly fine to post parts of images for deciphering purposes.

I would suggest the address is 42 Waterloo Street. Checking Your Archives street index for the 1851 census the street went up to 42.

Valda,

Many thanks. For both sorting out my lousy posts and the address info.

Your second attempt at attachments looked pretty good to me.

This is a very interesting piece of detective work about Martha BENSTEAD and Richard CUISICK/CUSICK/CUSACK.  The image of their daughter Ellen's birth certificate seems to me to show her as "Ellen Hart." with a period after Hart, as if Hart is an abbreviation for Harriet.
Does any one know what happened to either of the CUSICK daughters?
I have information about Martha BENSTEAD and her second husband, Thomas Ralph PEACOCK, and five children.  Are you interested in that?  I hasten to add that I don't know the fate of either Martha or Thomas PEACOCK.

Graeme,
Although Ellen's birth cert says Ellen Hart (you may well be right about an abbreviation) at the time of her baptism in 1856 in Clerkenwell she had become Ellen Margaret. She went on to marry George Denton at St Pancras in 1905. Her sister (Annorah/Honora/Laura) was I think born  (free BMD shows a registration for Honora Penlope - I have the cert on order) in 1847. She was baptised at Clerkenwell (Annorah) in 1848 and she went on to marry (as Laura) William George SIMKIN at Bethnal Green in 1868.
I do have the details of the Thomas Peacok/Martha wedding in 1858 and the 1861 census showing them at st Botolph. You will see from the start of this post that it is the Cusick ancestors I'm really interested in.
Thanks

Peter

Many thanks for the reply.  If you ever find out what finally happened to Martha CUSICK after she became PEACOCK I'd love to hear about it.

Hi Valda

Thanks very much for your contribution.  I had found the 1871 and 1881 census entries, but not the 1891 one.  (In the 1880s most of that PEACOCK family moved to Australia, and two of her children married there and stayed there.)  Her age in 1891 is not a good match: she was born in 1828 and would have been 62 or 63 in 1891, not 53 as recorded.  But that still might be 'my' Martha BENSTEAD, because she had fudged her age in almost every other census.  I still haven't found her second husband in 1891 or his death before that, nor have I found her death.

Many thanks again

I have now received the birth cert for Honora/Annorah. It confirms that when the birth was registered that the name recorded was Honora Penelope and they were living at 22 Albion Place Clerkenwell.

As Martha (as Widow) remarried to Thomas Pecock in 1858 Richard must have died sometime bewteen 1853 (Ellen born Oct 1853) & 1858 I would like to trace his death/burail if SKS could help.

(The only possible on FreeBMD I've found is: Deaths Mar 1858 – Cusack Richard West London 1c 32.)

Thanks
