Surely this isn't the whole collection...when i spoke to Katy sometime last year i'm sure she told me that the collection was a lot bigger than 300 photos....when you deduct the photos of the Gallician, Greek and Belgian gypsies, there aren't many left at all!!!!!
Family Romany Names Of Special Interest;
Bedfordshire LOVERIDGES & PARKERS
Cambridgeshire SMITHS
Hampshire AYRES & JEFFS

Also researching;

hi sharon,
and thank you for info and details.

i have ordered photos previously and they have been great but was just saying its a shame not to see the faces of some group photos as they dont list all the names and you never know if your "kin"  are in that picture somewhere :) (she says ever-so-hopefully  ;D )

Hello

I think the problem is that Fred Shaw probably never knew or recorded the names of all the people he photographed.

We just have to be grateful that he captured these moments – and these faces – for posterity. I've been lucky enough to find two close family members in the collection. Without Fred, I would have nothing from the generation born in the 1850s.

Best wishes

Wow, this is a fantastic site! - I've actually found some very elusive Stevens (Stephens) and Gregorys. Brilliant!

Hi Marona

I've just tried the link from this site and a couple of sites and it doesn't seem to be working from anywhere. So I checked the Liverpool University Special Collections 'home page' to find this message:

<<We apologise for the intermittent access to the archives finding aids due to a technical problem we are working to resolve. Please email scastaff@liv.ac.uk or ring 0151 794 2696 for help locating material.>>

Suggest you contact them or try the link again in a couple of days.
