Sandra,

This might be worth checking out  (could be just a big coincidence too  ;D )

There is a Edna May ASTON
Date of birth: 17/6/1911
Date of Death: 14/8/1995

Way to close to be a coincidence! The DOB would be correct as I had heard born c June 1911 anyway. I've emailed the contact point for that site and await her response.

Thank you once again for such wonderful help.  :)

Hi,

I am looking for any information regarding Edna. I know that she was born in Victoria (probably around Glenhuntly) in 1911 and was the dau of Chrstian Severin SORENSON and Margaret aka May LUDWIG. I have found Edna on electoral rolls prior to 1936 but nothing afterwards - no marriage, death etc. Any ideas???

Hi Sandra,

Well, what a find! I was just doing a little work on a record and after Googling Edna I found your post here!!

Edna was my Great Auntie Edna. She married my great uncle Alan Ashton in 1936. She was an amazing artist / painter and I always remember their house was full of oils and canvasses lining the hallways.

She and Alan had one son, Julian who was my father's cousin of course. Julian is still alive, married with one daughter. I haven't seen them since Edna's funeral in 1995 but I think Julian's wife or daughter's name is Cathy.

Do you have any other info on Edna and her life, Alan and Julian at all? I have a MyHeritage family tree operating that you are welcome to join if you like. Just contact me via a message from here if you like for now.

Hope you don't mind me replying after so long!!

Raylen, this is actually Edna May Ashton's grave site. She was my Great Aunt and her son Julian, daughter in law Cheryl and grand daughter Cathy are all there on the stone. Great spotting!!
