I am Keith Andrew Sykes, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
(1) My 5th Great-Grandfather was William Sykes (DOB: 04 OCT 1757 Bretton, Yorkshire, England. DOD:1802). William was married to Betty Depledge (1761–1852).
(2) My 4th Great-Grandfather was Samuel Sykes (1791–1865, Bretton, Yorkshire, England). He was married to Mary Watson (1796–1856, Leeds, Yorkshire, England).
(3) My 3rd Great-Grandfather was William Depledge Sykes (1829–1898, Leeds, Yorkshire, England). W.D. Sykes was married to Sarah Methley Brown (18 Oct 1833–24 May 1907).
(4) My 2nd Great-Grandfather was Arthur W. Sykes (06 Sept 1863–1933, Holbeck, Yorkshire, England). Arthur was married to Margaret Anderson Connell (26 Apr 1865–04 Aug 1937, Hutchesontown,Glasgow,Lanark,Scotland. Arthur and Margaret (Maggie) migrated to the USA in 1886 with daughter, Emily, who was an infant at the time. My great-grandfather, James (Emily's brother), was born in the USA, but passed at the age of 31 yrs in 1923 from stomach cancer. Arthur and Maggie are buried together in Cape May, New Jersey, USA.
