« on: Monday 31 January 11 16:48 GMT (UK) »
I dont know whether anyone can help me with this.

I am trying to trace where in Donegal , Michael McDaid ( my family name) came from.  He was killed on Bloody Sunday(aged 20 and one of 12 children) , and records show him as coming from Donegal.

Thank you

Hi we could be related, my dads Mcdaids come from Clonmany ( Urris).  Do you know where your Grandad McDaid originated from as I have traced ours back to 1790s

Hi

So far the family originated outside Buncrana in Fallask.  I do know that at least one of the brothers went to Mindoran, Clonmany.  Any relation?

I've seen McDaids from Mindoran in Clonmany _ St Marys Church (Graves).  If you've traced your family tree back to mid 1850s I may be able to see if any connection.  PM me.

Thank you for your help.  I have emailed the telegraph.  This is obviously a sensitive area and there are a lot of Mcdaids in Donegal.  I'll try the googlesearch. I'm just looking for the townland and I'm away.
