A. N. David
« on: Thursday 03 February 11 21:53 GMT (UK) »
Alexander Noel David married Violet Norah Jones July 1911.

Alexander was killed in action during WWII in October 1942 and was buried at
PRINCES RISBOROUGH (ST. MARY) CHURCHYARD, Buckinghamshire.

Violet Norah David nee Jones is also believed to have been buried nearby. Violet Norah's father was John Gregory Jones, born 1861 Valparaiso, Chile

I am looking for her date of death.

Regards
Dunlata

His wife is buried in the same grave in Risborough Churchyard,  (or her inscription is on the grave)  I will get back to you if I can find the details.  If I remember rightly her death was many years after his.

Hi Suzard,

Many thanks.  Somehow I don't think it is the same Violet, but will keep in mind just in case.

Cheers, Dunlata

Hi

War Grave with RAF crest

The inscription reads

18th October 1942
Also his wife
V Norah

So Suz was right!

Hi Suz and Bucksgirl,

Many thanks for both both being so helpful.  Greatly appreciated.

Suz, please accept my apologies for doubting!  I have no idea why Violet Norah was in Caernarvonshire.  Her parents were born in South America and she grew up in Hampstead, London.

Cheers, Dunlata

no need to apologize -I doubted it myself because of the place??

Maybe Violet was convalescing near the coast?? Or recovering from the loss of her husband ? Or maybe she had moved out of London because of the war? Maybe she was with family visiting???

Lots of guesses - her death cert would give an address where she died -and name of informant -who may be family??
