Hi Matt
Bit of setback. I checked St Gabriel's, Hanley Swan and St Mary's, Hanley Castle and Alice wasn't baptised at either of those churches. The History Centre only has a film of the burials at St Peter's, Malvern Wells, so you will need to contact the incumbent. I'll send you a pm with the vicar's email address.

The History Centre staff are going to get the Record Office website changed to show that they have a film of the burials not the baptisms.

Not sure if it's relevant but I found a T Bright living at Dales Cottage, Old Wyche Rd in 1928.

Also there is Sarah Ann A Bright registered Upton Mar 1/4 1894 - have you discounted her?

Thank you netti. Yes thanks to the info on this chat and the 1891/1901 censuses I have a feeling that Sarah Ann A might be a match - and I believe the certificate has been ordered. There's a parallel search for the associated baptism just in case the A isn't written out in full (as Alice we hope). Trying to also uncover this person in the 1901 census in the meantime.
cheers,
matt

Been a long time, but we know a little more now.

Sarah Ann Alice BRIGHT (called Alice) died 24th Sep 1920.

Alice died at "Isolation Hospital Hill Top Bromsport WD" , and lived at "No 1 Upper Chase Road Malvern W.D."

Full death cert can be found here: https://randomfh.blogspot.com/2012/01/death-certificate-of-alice-bright-1894.html?q=alice+bright

I'd like to find out where her funeral and burial were. Anyone have access to Priory other other funeral/burial indexes in Malvern?

Perhaps Isolation Hospital Hill Top is a distance from Malvern? If so, possibly there is a nearby church? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Matt

Looking at the death cert she died in the Bromsgrove Reg District  at the Isolation Hosp, Hill Top, Bromsgrove  U D (Urban District)- quite a distance from Malvern - presumably as she died of TB

Thanks Kay! Based on its location, do you have any suggestions about the closes church/cemetery for burials? How far is it from Malvern?
Any advice on how to check Malvern funeral/burial records in the week after her death would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

The isolation  hospital is about 25 miles from Malvern but I noticed that the informant at the time of Sarah's death was her aunt Sarah Ann Palmer who lived in Droitwich (7 miles from Bromsgrove)

The location of her burial/cremation might be in Bromsgrove or Malvern or relate to where her nearest family were living at the time. :-\  If her aunt Sarah Ann Palmer was her closest relative possibly this might mean Droitwich is also a possibility.

Thanks Kay - so before I go off on this mission - do you know whether church records for 1920 are generally accessible? You points are good - I know the family had some events at Malvern Priory, and i think Droitwich is a good point. I don't know if people who died at the Isolation Hospital were considered infectious after death - this may have affected where they were buried.
