If you do have photos of Ruby and Gertrude, it would be worth seeing them for comparative purposes 

I have one of Ruby as an old lady - only one and to my knowledge I don't have one of Gertrude - unless this is she!    I only have Rebecca her older sister.

Thanks very much Carol  - much easier to see her without the depredations of time and wear!   

I wonder if she isn't Ruby, but her mother Gertrude - the general consensus seems to be pointing that way!   Makes sense when I found her where I did too.

Very inbred family - if it is Gertrude, she married her cousin - and the cousin, after Gertrude's death, married her, Gertrude's, sister!   I suppose to look after her and her children as much as anything in them there times.    (Interesting - in the electoral rolls they are shown as living in separate addresses next door to each other - the second wife that is!)
