It really wouldn't surprise me if Laura did end up in Scotland at some stage.  This family is extremely mobile.

Hi, Laura Eliza was the daughter of Samuel Quarrell (b 1804) bricklayer and Mary Ann (nee Scott) born 6 Oct 1841 at Box, I have the certificate.

Do you know if Samuel had a brother John (who incidentally was also a bricklayer)? John was born in Barrow, Leicestershire to parents, William b. c1770 and possibly Ann?

Yes, their father was William b about 1774 don't know where yet, he died in Cricklade Wilts in 1836 his wife Ann died a few weeks before him same year. Whats your link? My husband is descended from Samuel Q

Hi anneq,

I'm descended from John, son of William and Ann.  I was trying to track down Laura as she turned up at John's daughter, Ann's  place at census time (1871) and then at 1881 at Ann's son, Charles Woodbridge's place. I've been trying to tie her into the family picture.
