Do you know what camera you are going to buy?

If you haven't yet made up your mind can I suggest that you handle the camera before buying. Lots of people do their research on the internet and decide on the camera they want on the basis of specification. Only to find when they hold the camera for the first time that it is uncomfortable for them. Either they find the viewfinder difficult or the buttons don't fall to hand easily.

Its also worth considering how often you will want to carry the camera, some are much bigger than others.

Hi John,
I did go into a local camera shop and I am leaning toward the panasonic Lumix either gh2 or g2. These are micro 4/3 and felt very nice in the hand. This was a major reason for my choice as well as the articulating screen. I first tried the digital version of my old canon rebel and was shocked how clumsey I felt with it, but my hands are very small. Perhaps I could get used to it but it was also quite heavy for me. I couldn't imagine carrying it around for long periods of time. I'm not completely sold mostly because of price. But I certainly haven't seen anything else that I quite like as much. I'm leaning toward the gh2 which among other things the kit comes with one lens that almost encompasses the two that come with the g2 and I thought that one lens with a decent range was a bonus rather than carrying two. On the other hand it is a fair bit more expensive and really more than I wanted to pay.

All the micro four thirds group of cameras will provide good quality images with a small easy to carry and use camera. The gh2 is a very nice camera but hugely expensive. There are other possibilities in the micro four thirds range.
