Looking for information on Richard Cottle before his Trial at Somerset Assizes 1829. His DOB 1811 Bath Somerset.
Richard was convicted and transported to Australia 1829 for the crime of ??????. I would love to get some information as to his Mum & Dad etc. any help would be appreciated.

Hi Vic,

You may find out quite a bit about Richard if you send for the records of his trial.

I have done this a few times at the county records office where the trial took place and received copies of the trial documents.
It was a few years back, but I imagine they would still be available.
The documents can reveal quite a bit of information about the family and life of the accused.

Worth a try at least.
