Mulligan Family History County Cavan, Irelan
« on: Wednesday 16 February 11 05:19 GMT (UK) »
Greetings from Canada.  We are interested to hear from anyone who may know of our Mulligan family clan in the areas of County Cavan; Renfrew County, Ontario; Seaforth, Ont; or Falkland, BC.  My GGGf was Michael Mulligan, b. abt 1800 in County Cavan; my GGGM was Bridget Storm b abt 1810, my GF was John Daniel Mulligan, b. 1873 Seaforth, Ont.  We will appreciate any help that folks can offer.  Thank you.

Dear Patrick.  I am certainly interested in corresponding about the Mulligan Clan.  If the information that I posted seems to be consistent with your heritage, please let me know.  I am keen to hear of your family background in the hopes that we have a definite link.  Please know that I am not the best at this internet and historical site 'stuff', as I am of another generation that relied upon other forms of communication.  I would be pleased to send you more of what I have gathered if you wish.  Where are you located?  We live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and have spend most of our summers in Ireland, beginning in 2011.
All best wishes,

Gary Pennington (son of Norine Elizabeth Mulligan)

Michael was born about 1870. From what I know about this time some mulligans from Cavan County Ireland went to Canada and in the case of my GGGrandfather to New Zealand.
Michael's parents were James Mulligan & Hanorah O'Donell.

It would seem we are talking about 2 different Michael's.

Yes, it may be that we are talking about different Mulligans, though the Cavan link seems strong.  Should we share  more family tree information to see where things stand?  I believe that my GGF was also in Canada.  My grandfather was born in Seaforth, Ontario c. 1876.  Hope this helps.

Gary
