James Thomas MacLeod known as Tommy
« on: Thursday 24 February 11 01:27 GMT (UK) »
Looking for info on a James (Jimmy) but known by his middle name of Tommy MacLeod of Boise Idaho. He was Boise's only bagpiper in the early 1900's.

If you have any further information on him, such as when and where he was born, it might be helpful.

There is an Idaho marriage record for a James Thomas McLeod here:  http://www.rootschat.com/links/0c07/  Without more information, I can't be sure that's him though.

Thank you all for the info. This is him. I had the obit from the paper and a photo of him playing the pipes for my husbands grand aunt in Boise  - she is dancing outside under the trees to him, plus there is a photo of him in The Sheep King of Idaho dancing at the Sheepherders Ball with Andy Little's wife but could not find anything else. Read about Tommy Mackenzie park keeper and did not put two and two together. I can now look him up on Scotlands people and census records and see if I can find his relationship to my husband's grand uncle and Colin MacLeod if any.
With grateful thanks.
