Stannett family
« on: Thursday 24 February 11 17:09 GMT (UK) »
Hello everyone,

I'm totally new to this!

My mother was fostered by the Stannett family when she was a child. Her foster mother and father were called Oliver James Stannett and Mabel Stannett.

We have been looking to find my mothers step sisters and brothers as she had 10. I wondered if anyone had any information on how i could find them.

We know that Roslyn my mothers step sister moved to australia, but thats about it.

If anyone out there knows anything that would be great.

Thanks
Sami

Before posting any more details please remember that Rootschat is a forum for tracing ancestors not living people and we have a strict 'no living people' policy which means if you do post such details they will be removed.

We can offer general advice on this thread but if anyone has recent family details they'll need to send them by PM (personal message).

Meanwhile, have a look at the links here for tracing living relatives-

Here is the Policy in question.

Quote
To protect people and their identities we do not encourage the posting of information about people who are or maybe still living.

Even with permission from the subject of a post we would seriously advise against giving too much information as to betray their identity.

so hardly a strict 'no living people' policy ?

Hi Sami,
There is a public family tree (actually several) with Oliver James and Mabel Stannett on Ancestry .co.uk and their children.
As his marriage was in 1925 we can t really give details of children as a bit too recent.
If you go on www.freebmd.co.uk you can find Olivers marriage and offspring.

Best wishes

Really sorry if i broke any rules.

Oliver james stannett and his wife are dead though. I'm not sure if his children are still living thats kind of why i posted here.

But yes all i know is he got married to Mabel in 1925 and they had kids after that. I think david there son died.

I don't know much really about dates, all i know is i was asked to find the missing link so to speak :)

It would be interesting to learn more about there Ancestors. Its just finding the dates!

Thanks guys

Just to let you know...you say David  died
I cannot find a death for D**** V Stannett on freebmd , although the Sannett deaths only go up to 1950...and none of the Stannett children are casualties in WW2 ...so it would appear the 5 children were all alive 1950....
