It seems to have been Harry Samuel GARNETT, rather than his father, who served in WW1.

Harry's military records show that his next of kin was his wife, Ellen, of 1 Paradise Place, Scoles Green, Norwich.  His children were named as Ivy, E___? and Millie.  A daughter was also registered to this couple in Norwich in 1916 (see FreeBMD).

Does anyone know if the Bertram Garnett listed as age 5 in the 1901 census moved to Doncaster in later life. Bertram was the name of my grandfather, who died in the 1960s, and would have been about that age. I also had an auntie Ethel.

Thanks
Graham Garnett
