Royal Life Guard Photo - date?

Hello.

Another photo, this time of my great uncle who was in the royal life guards.  Is there any way of telling about when this was taken?  I know that he was in the RMGC in Nov 1918 (have a group photo of them).  Presumably after that he went on to join the guards....it would be interesting to know which royal lifes he was guarding!

Please always scan in colour and at 300 dpi resolution.

Royal Horse Guards for me rather than Life Guards.

Ahhh Horse guards?  Later in life he emigrated to Oz, where he had a family.  Story goes he wanted an opportunity to go back to Scotland again, so he joined the ANZACs before/around WW2 in the hope he might get back to UK...not successful though.  Anyway, the one photo I have of him in ANZAC uniform he is with his horse...

And his name is Donald MacRae b 1899ish in Invernesshire, known as Dan.

Youngtug - what similarities between our two photos.  Maybe both men served together.

I will try and find my RMGC photo too and scan it on here for you to see....
