These prove quite useful too. But I think 1945 is probably a little late for most of the indexes. May help as you go further back though.

Thanks to you both for the links. I have written to one of the sites asking for a search in the local cemetery. Will let you know how I get on.

I know the index of burials for Ford was held in Liverpool Records Office, William Brown St Liverpool, as are the records for Yewtree Cem, which is also a RC Cem and people from the City centre are also known to have been buried there too. I'm not sure where they are held now as a lot of redevelopment of the records office is being done, but I'm sure some one will pop up and tell you where they can be viewed.

They're on the second floor of the museum - a few doors down the hill.  ;)

Hi,
I had ancestors living in Thurlow St in 1881 (census) and apparently they had a servant! Can anyone tell me if this sounds right for this street/area please?

If so, they fell on harder times as by 1901 they were in a 2 up 2 down in bootle  :-\
Colbert- Liverpool (Seaforth) / Ebbw Vale
Darbyshire- Liverpool / Northwich
Walker- Liverpool / Wakefield / Leicester / Manchester
Corrin- Liverpool / Isle of Man (Douglas / Onchan)

Thanks for the links - just spotted my mum's flat in Speke Rd Gardens!

Hope I can ask a second question here - does anyone know where a catholic who died in Thurlow House is likely to be buried? My son's hoping to do a bit of 'graveyard research' but we don't know where to begin.

Any suggestions welcomed, as I can contact the churches to see if they can help.

What number Speke Rd Gardens ?? we lived in 24c and my wife was born in 2c
