Following my last post I have now found the following families and in the vain hope that somewhere there might be a connection to Charlotte

Marriage of Moses Hughes to Caroline Jones 10 Apr 1843 Thatcham, Berkshire fathers James Hughes and Samuel Jones.

Edward Wheeler to Jane Hughes 23 Jun 1850 Devizes, Wiltshire fathers Thomas Wheeler and James Hughes

1851 living in newbury Newtown;
Hughes Ester grdaughter age 5yrs born  1846 Warminster
Loader Charles Visitor born 1834
Loader Charles Visitor age 2 born 1849 Newbury Berks
Loader Ester Visitor age 5 born 1842 Newbury Berks
Jones Charles son age 26 born 1825 Bucklebury Berks
Jones Samuel son age 36 born 1815 Wiltshire
Hughes Charles grdson age 7 born 1844 Newbury Berks
Jones Samuel Head age 72 born 1779 Brentford Middlesex
Jones Ester Wife age 71 born 1780 Bucklebury
Hughes Caroline Daughter age 28 born 1823 Devizes Wiltshire
Hughes Moses son in law  age 35 born 1816 Newbury

In 1861 Moses is living in Devizes but now his age is 40 born 1821 Devises with
Caroline age 30  born 1831 Devizes
Charles son age 17 born 1844 Newbury
Ester daughter age 15 born 1846 Wiltshire
John son age 10 born 1851 Newbury
Thomas son age 5 born 1856 Devizes.

Samuel Jones and Ester where the parents of Robert Jones who married
1 Diana Bull daughter of Luke Bull
2 Kezia Bull daughter of Job and Charlotte Bull

is Moses the son of James and Mary Hughes being the brother of Charlotte??
Could Charlotte be the Wife/Partner of Job Bull, ?? the age would be abt right.

Where is Moses in 1841 ??

Sorry if this is a bit long winded and not to confusing, Hoping someone can help
Many thanks Rovert

I think you would do better on the Wiltshire and Berkshire boards,. I know sojourner means a temporary residence but this is not normally applied to travellers.

Thankyou for the reply,  I would normally agree, however Samuel Jones was a Ratcatcher along with his son Robert.  And I forgot to put the occ of Moses which is a Hawker

Hawker,OK.Though they do seem to spend a lot of time in Newbury and Devizes, not much more than 35 miles apart. Also a ratcatcher would probably do better in one place.

firstly they are definately travellers.some of their descendants live on my Gypsy site now.depending which hughes family it truns out to be my husband granny was a hughes.now the thing to know ith this lot is they used the names of hughes and jones interchanably!!!!!one lot were hughes upto 1871 and then in 1871 turned into jones back to 1881 and they are  hughes again.i am surprized to find both families so far waway as they often turn up around hampshire, somerset and devon.a lot of them are buried at honiton in devon.i am going to consult with a felew researcher on this one and get back to you as we havent fully separated the two families yet.we think they are connected but have not been able to find the connection.i also have a few certificates on these if anyone want to pm me their email address.i be back as soon as i can with any info i can dig up.
