John McLeod - William Crosbie
« on: Thursday 10 March 11 00:19 GMT (UK) »
Hi Folks,

Have been doing my family tree for a few years now and I have got as far back as my relative John McLeod born 1794 in Kircudbrightshire, Married to Helen McLeod born 1797, they had 7 children     *

      Jean McLeod
          1822 –
      Agnes McLeod
          1826 –
     Thomas McLeod
          1828 –
 Helen McLeod
          1830 –
John McLeod
          1833 –
Margaret McLeod
          1837 –
Elisabeth McLeod
          1840 –

My family line runs through Agnes McLeod Born 1826, whos father was John McLeod, Agnes married Philip Crosbie born 1826 whom is my Great Grandfather four times over, according to the marriage cert he was a mariner, his father was called William Crosbie, John McLeod and William Crosbie both appear on the marriage cert as Joiners, Agnes and Philip appear to have grew up in Dumfrieshire as far as ive been able to get back to, Philip and Agnes settled in Liverpool where a lot of my family have been ever since, its very important to my Grandad William Crosbie to get as far back as possible, something hes been trying to do for many years.

My whole family tree is on ancestry under my name  avi8r84

If anyone can help me get back any further on the Mcleod and Crobie line it would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

One of my maternal great grandmothers was Elizabeth Crosbie, born c.1860 Dumfries, but she married in Liverpool in 1880.   I have done very little research on her line so can add nothing further, re: parents etc.

Could she be one of yours?
