Login in to specific country

Hello all,

As 99% of my posts are to the NZ board is there a way to automatically log in to.........

RootsChat.Com/Research in Other Countries/New Zealand
a.k.a
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,299.0.html

or do I have to log in, which brings up RootsChat.Com top page, then scroll down, then click NZ

Just drag the NZ board icon out onto the desktop as a shortcut [from the top line where the page address is].  Then, if you don't log out when you leave RC, the next time you want to go to NZ, click on the shortcut and you'll go straight to the NZ board.

Hello Erato....Thanks for the reply.

I've done something similar by setting two of my browser's "Speed Dial" shortcuts to
i) the rootschat log-in page and
ii) the NZ board page

It's a bit clunky but "click" + "ctrl+enter" + "click" does the job.
(Ctrl+enter enters my login details)

I was basically wondering if I had overlooked an option in the rootschat user preferences to set a specific board as my home-page. That would have saved me the additional "click" :-)

This doesn't take you direct o the NZ board, but it is more visible.

Hi Beg

I do with the Scottish page of RC what Erato is suggesting. I don't physically log out (the system will disconnect through lack of activity/when you close the page). I also have the Scottish page link on my bookmarks, so I simply click on that bookmark and I am straight in, already logged on.

Like Monica, I save the chosen page to my Bookmarks or Favourites, depending on which internet browser I'm using. I would never have thought of doing it Erato's way and dragging the url - you live and learn !

Hi again all...thanks for the suggestions. I'll play around with the different options and eventually something will feel comfortable.

Can't for the life of me find a collapse option. Have clicked all over the place. Wonder if my browser is to blame (Opera). I'll try it on FireFox later on......(what's that I hear you say? Poor workman....blame tools?  :-)

By clicking on the arrows on the part I've highlighted on the RootsChat Forum page, you can collapse the boards you don't choose to view. Bob had already posted a similar image in the link he gave.

You and Berlin-Bob forgot to take into account two things.

1) Some of us *are* as dumb as we look :-)

2) You forgot to tell me I had to log in to make the arrows appear.
