Info on John WINES in Castle Cary in 1841

Hi Everyone

I'm new to researching my ancestors and I am looking for any information on John Wines who was born in 1810 or 1811 - possibly in Kingston, Somerset.

He was married to Jane in 1841 but by the 1851 census he was married to Harriet. 

He has the following children (all circa): Edwin 1832, George 1835, Alfred 1835, Sarah 1840, Charlotte 1836, Jonah 1844, Jane ?, Anna 1841, Epraim 1846, Elizabeth 1848, Sidney 1851.

I think John was my gt gt grandfather but I can't seem to find anything out about where he came from and his parentage.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Looking at freebmd, there is a marriage for John Wines with Harriett COOPPER (sic) on the same page in 1842 (sept qtr 1842 10 733).  If this is your JOhn, then this should give his father's name.

Thanks for the info.  You seem to confirm my own thoughts and also that of a nice guy in Australia who has a whole load of Wines's on his tree, that John Wines was the son of Simeon & Charlotte Wines.  I'm not sure where James and Rebecca fit into the scheme of things yet.  I'm still working on that.

My tree is on Genes Reunited if it helps - name Daphne Wines
